New data compiled by author Dr Paul Lee has revealed the most haunted areas across Leicestershire, with more than twenty five paranormal claims documented in total. The city centre takes the top spot in the county with eleven reported experiences, ranging from unexplained footsteps to phantom tobacco smoke and poltergeist activity involving flying plates. Other areas such as Oadby and Market Harborough also feature multiple ghost reports, while locations like Glenfield, Rushey Mead, Cropston and Market Bosworth have recorded single paranormal claims. Dr Lee's extensive research across Britain also highlights nationwide hotspots, including areas in Kent and York, though he notes some reports could potentially be urban legends or hoaxes.
