New late-night trains arriving for Inverness economy

Business leaders and transport advocates have enthusiastically welcomed the upcoming introduction of additional late-night train services north of Inverness, describing them as a valuable boost to the city's evening economy. Currently, ScotRail operates a late-night service to Tain only on Fridays and Saturdays at 11.13pm, with other weeknight services finishing significantly earlier at 9.29pm. However, under the new timetable starting in mid-December, additional 11.13pm departures will run from Monday to Thursday as far as Dingwall. Local business figures, including Inverness Chamber of Commerce chief executive Colin Marr and Inverness BID chairman Gavin Johnston, highlighted that the new connections will give residents and tourists the confidence to enjoy a full evening out, supporting hospitality venues, cinemas, and theatres. Rail campaigners from the Friends of the Far North Line have also praised the decision, noting that the long-requested services will allow more people to leave their cars at home. Tickets for the new departures are already available to book on the ScotRail website ahead of their launch. Fuente: inverness-courier.co.uk #Inverness #ScotRail #RailTravel #Highlands #Economy
